One of the 21 grants awarded for the 2007 - 2008 school year, funded robotic equipment for a science research class at John H Glenn High School. The equipment allowed the robotics team to design and build a robot that could carry and assemble aircraft pieces. With this project, the robotics team won the 3rd annual Connecticut BEST (Boost Engineering, Science and Technology) Game Day. The 16 member team beat 20 teams from the tri-state area at the event. The win earned the team an invitation to the regional championship at Auburn University in Alabama. In an effort to continue to support the program that the EEE seeded, the EEE provided additional funds to allow the team to make the trip to Alabama.
